Richard E. Mancuso

Richard is a Partner at Whitman Breed Abbott & Morgan in Greenwich, CT, where he is the head of the Intellectual Property Department and is a member of the Firm’s Business Law Department. He has nearly 30 years of experience representing and counseling a large variety of businesses, nonprofit organizations, family offices and individuals on intellectual property and business law matters.

Richard represents clients as both general counsel and special counsel in a wide range of corporate finance and business law matters, including business start-ups, entity formation and maintenance, shareholders agreements, limited liability company agreements, early stage and venture capital round financings, commercial financing, corporate equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture agreements, control disputes, business divorce, corporate reorganizations and liquidations and general corporate matters. He also advises clients on domestic and international copyright and trademark issues, including the clearance and protection of trademarks in the US and globally.  Richard regularly handles intellectual property matters involving transfers of assets, licensing, and enforcement issues.  Richard also represents family offices for which he handles a wide range of legal matters, working closely with management  and family members to address the needs of his clients.

Prior to his law career, Richard successfully managed a supply and distribution business that operated throughout the tri-state area.

Richard has a B.A. from George Washington University and a J.D from Boston College Law School, where he graduated cum laude.
